Ohayo gozeimasu or oyasuminasei?

(Good morning or good night?)

It doesn’t actually matter. You can wear the thing all day long it you want. It’s a Yukata (the male version of a Japanese kimono), and when I was in Germany (again, Germany) I bought one for my Frog King and one for myself (Frog King’s is the blue one, the other one is mine. Shame the colours and patterns don’t come out well in this picture). Frog King loves his and it suits him so well! The funny thing is, that it’s not even from a Japanese brand. It’s from Bassetti, an Italian brand.

Oh, they have beautiful fabrics. I would have loved to buy some bed sheets and one of their amazing Granfoulards, too, but the sheets were not available in the right size and the Granfoulard pattern I fell in love with (Mosaico) was also not available (maybe I will order it online). The quality is outstanding. The fabric is smooth like silk even though it’s cotton.

Unfortunately, Bassetti’s website is crap (sorry), so if you want to see their beautiful designs you better google them. Here are some pictures from their catalogue.

  1. I really like the first pic…its great (the outshining especially)…love my grandfoulard!!!

  2. Beautiful! I’m a huge fan of kimonos. My husband brought some back from Japan, but they look so precious I don’t dare wearing them. (Also from what I found out about the pattern they are men’s, but that wouldn’t really bother me.) The designs here are lovely and bright.

  3. Love that outdoor bed! I would love to take a nap on it with the sun beaming down!

  4. Just want to say what a great blog you got here!
I’ve been around for quite a lot of time, but finally decided to show my appreciation of your work!

Thumbs up, and keep it going!
