Disappointed by Miuccia?

Filed under: Uncategorized — blindcopy @ 11:37 am

It’s been the first time that I watched a live stream of a fashion show, and it also happened by accident. I just clicked on a link on twitter (not knowing what it was exactly), and right in this moment the show started: Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2011. I liked the setting and the music (apart from that American Idol thing), it strongly reminded me of a Tim Burton movie for some reason. Kind of obscure. All in all this collection looks like a mix of many styles Miuccia Prada did before in my opinion (think of that Roman or her insect collection). Anyways, after the first shock of not liking anything I saw (not even the accessories), there were some really special dresses and top/skirt combinations I love more every time I look at them again:

(To be honest, I don’t like that dress that much, but I had to post it because Freja Beha looks so divine with that make-up!)

(I love that dress above. It should be mine, believe me!)

(I would totally wear this top!)

After all, there are more pieces of this collection I like than I thought while watching the show. But based on the cautious to tired reaction of the audience, it’s not gonna be Miu Miu’s most successful collection. (I felt a bit sorry for Miuccia Prada, I think her face really showed that she got the audience’s disapproval.) But without the bad side of things there wouldn’t be the good: at least there’s hope for me that I get the chance to pick up one item of this collection, because for once it might not be sold out within seconds. And if I’m really lucky, there will be the one or the other piece available at Yoox, soon.

  1. Mmmhh, they are difficult to grasp these designs. Like the first dress – I like it, but who without Freja’s frame can wear a cut like this? The Prada shows didn’t get much approval either by the ‘fashion crowd’, I think, though I liked some of the strong colour, strong stripes features.

  2. I agree with the lovely Sabine that it’s difficult to pigeon hole these designers.
I actually fancy the first dress, too. And Freja is so striking looking. Happy Sunday;-)
