In my closet or: Dresses over pants.

Filed under: Uncategorized — blindcopy @ 7:19 pm

A couple of days ago, Balenciaga Fall 2011 reassured me that dresses/skirts worn over pants are cool (here) – to that extend that I even promised you to show you my version of a dress worn over pants. Said – done. And so I re-discovered two dresses that I haven’t worn in (at least) three years. They were a mispurchase, but today was their calling.

(Daslu, LV, J Brand, Prada)

(Paul & Joe, Marni, Current/Elliot, Chloe)

  1. oh, i love the first look especially! so fresh and breezy. my very stylish, rather bohemian grandmother was known for wearing a dress over pants. (my mom would comment: “i don’t know WHY she wears her clothes like that!” my response was something like this: “i think it’s cool. she looks comfortable and stylish!”)

  3. I think the second combination works much better! I believe that the first dress would be better off with skinny jeans or leggings (in my humble opinion that is)!!!
Btw I remember that about a decade ago I had seen skirts over pants, but I never tried that in public!!!!

  7. Oh, I especially love the first combination. This dress is too beautiful to lead a neglected wardrobe life! I’ve also totally taken to the look and un-dug a very slouchy pair of trousers and a rather sheer dress, both from Ghost, which suddenly go lovely together.

BTW Kazuko, I have been sending you responses to your comments for months now and yesterday Sarah pointed out that they go to a ‘no response’ email – so I guess you never received them 😦 (haven’t forgotten about the festivals either – soon to come!) xo

  8. I LOVE dresses on pants, and it’s one of the hallmarks of Japanese style that I like the most, by the way. And you look incredibly gorgeous, I love the two looks, even though I think you look especially good in the first one (but it’s a hard choice, you look hyper cool in the second look too). I think I just discovered that white suits you perfectly 😀 and I really like the shape of the dress too

    a big kiss
