Merry Sunny Christmas.

Filed under: Uncategorized — blindcopy @ 7:12 pm

So, we stayed in Dubai for Christmas (and New Year, too). And I have to say that we spend a surprisingly nice, even festive and relaxed 24th of December, even though it may not sound like the most xmassy Xmas to you.

First we tried to catch some festive spirit at Dubai Mall. Their decoration can really keep up with any other (bad) Christmas decoration. At 27°C the weather was just perfect so we sat outside at Carluccio’s right in front of Burj Dubai and the water fountains. Alex had to get mad at the waiters (without him getting mad at someone it wouldn’t have been a real Christmas day, believe me), but once the food arrived he relaxed and we enjoyed the sunny afternoon.

80% off sales dragged me to the Gate Village afterwards. And while I was browsing Villa Moda, Tsumori Chisato, Maison Martin Margiela, Marni, and, and, and (just to come out with – nothing) – Alex kept himself busy with my camera. I really loved the atmosphere over there – just like a warm summer night in Europe. The day was rounded off by a perfect Frappuccino Caffe at Café Florian and traffic jam on our way home to Discovery Gardens. What a lovely day.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

It's simply not possible to get the entire 818m tall Burj Dubai on one picture.

The promenade at Dubai Mall.

80% off sales at all Gate Village boutiques - even better than Christmas. 🙂

Welcoming. Villa Moda.

It's not about comfort, it's about beauty - even though I actually didn't try them.

This dress screams for someone as divine to wear it. And even though I hate one-line posts – sorry guys, there’s nothing more to say ’bout it.

Just so beautiful.

Can you spot the cat?

Filed under: Uncategorized — blindcopy @ 3:21 pm

I have to apologise for all the cheesy cat images I recently posted. I know that you don’t find them cute if you don’t have pets, and even if you have cats – as long as the creatures on the images are not yours they don’t spark anything than boredom (at best). However, I simply had to post this one.

Can you spot the cat?

The parrot whisperer.

Filed under: Uncategorized — blindcopy @ 4:42 pm

During our weekend grocery shopping trip we saw this friendly parrot man walking on one of Jumeirah’s backstreets. So we stopped and Alex asked him if he would allow him to take a picture. We didn’t ask him whether he was taking the birds out for a walk and if they were still able to fly (because they remained sitting calm on his shoulder all the time). I hope they were fine. Oh, but at least one of them talked to Alex (but he didn’t understand the language). 😉 Especially in the areas around Jumeirah and Satwa you can see entire flocks of parrots flying around.

An impossible reality.

Filed under: Uncategorized — blindcopy @ 11:21 am

Today is one of those days I feel like surrounding myself with nice and beautiful things – which is a bit of a challenge since I’m actually at work. But I feel very relaxed and it doesn’t make me nervous thinking about questions à la category “Which came first, chicken or egg?”. So I am able to sit back and look at images like those fantastic ones by the Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher.

To whom it may concern.

You can read this post if you’re interested. You can even follow that attached link if you’re thinking of buying one or more of the pictured items. Copy the link of this post if you like. Comment on it. I really don’t mind. Because – the only reason for the post is this:

We’re close to Xmas. Everybody knows that, right? It’s the time many of you buy nice presents for their beloved ones, right? It makes you and them happy – ideally. You should make that sure. It doesn’t matter if it’s a smaller or a bigger gift – there’s a whole range to choose from. Buying gifts can be so easy. You can buy them even online. And if you need money in the future you can always try to sell those gifts again, try to cash them in. (You can try that.)

Ok Alex – did you get it? 😉

Gothic Lolita Punk.

I wouldn’t want to wear this skirt. I’d just put it on a display dummy to look at it. Isn’t it beautiful? A piece of art. The funny thing is: when you have a look at the Japanese brand’s entire collection this skirt looses a lot of its charm – at least for me.
